LOOKING FOR ANSWERS?
Have any additional questions about Gro Clinics' offerings or about your upcoming hair transplant? We have answers to some of the more commonly asked questions below:
Answers are general in nature and don’t replace medical advice. Outcomes vary.
How much does a hair transplant cost at Gro Auckland?
Hair transplants at Gro Auckland generally start from around NZ$8,000. Final pricing depends on factors including the number of grafts required, donor hair characteristics, the treatment area and your individual goals. You'll receive a personalised quote following assessment.
Can I pay for my hair transplant in instalments?
Yes. Flexible payment options are available through third-party finance providers, subject to eligibility and lender approval. Your consultant can explain the current options available.
What is a hair transplant?
A hair transplant involves relocating healthy hair follicles from a donor area, typically the back or sides of the scalp, to areas experiencing thinning or hair loss. At Gro Auckland, hair transplants use the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) technique and are delivered under medical oversight.
How does a hair transplant work?
Using FUE, individual follicular units are extracted from the donor area and placed into areas where additional coverage is planned. Placement is guided by factors including your existing hair direction, density, hair characteristics and individual treatment plan.
Is a hair transplant permanent?
Transplanted follicles are intended to provide long-lasting hair growth. However, natural hair loss can continue in untreated areas and outcomes vary between individuals. Your clinical team can discuss what you can realistically expect based on your hair loss pattern and donor hair.
What other treatments do you offer besides hair transplants?
Gro Auckland can discuss other hair restoration options during your consultation. Available services vary, and some options require clinical assessment. The team can explain what is currently available in New Zealand and which options may be appropriate for you.
Am I eligible for a hair transplant?
Suitability depends on factors including the cause and progression of your hair loss, donor hair availability, your medical history and your treatment goals. A clinical assessment is required to determine whether a hair transplant is appropriate for you.
How long does it take to recover from a hair transplant?
Redness, swelling, sensitivity, crusting or discomfort can occur following a hair transplant. Many people return to routine activities within several days, although visible signs of healing may last longer. Recovery varies between individuals, and your care team will provide personalised aftercare instructions.
How long does a hair transplant take to work?
Shedding can occur during the first few weeks after treatment. Early growth may become noticeable from around 3 to 6 months, with hair continuing to develop and mature over the following months. Final outcomes can take around 12 to 18 months and vary between individuals.
Is a hair transplant painful?
Local anaesthetic is used during the procedure to manage pain. Some discomfort, soreness or sensitivity can occur during and after treatment, and the experience varies between individuals. Your clinical team will explain pain management and recovery as part of your treatment planning.
