Why are eyebrows important?

Eyebrows serve two functional roles, primarily protecting the eyes from extreme sunlight, sweat and other forms of debris that may enter into the eye socket. Secondly, the eyebrows serve as a form of expression. Eyebrows play a unique role in verbal communication. When talking, our eyebrows move allowing us to express certain emotions such as happiness, anger, pain and sadness. The facial expressions used in conjunction with the movement of our brows, can have an influence on our daily relations.

The eyebrows play an important role in facial symmetry, contributing to the aesthetic appearance in both men and women. Well-designed brows can promote the definition of cheek bones, leading to the facial features looking more symmetrical and eyes appearing brighter. Well-manicured eyebrows balance the facial features and frame the eyes. On the contrary, poorly shaped eyebrows do not give the face and cheeks a defined and aesthetically pleasing look. Eyebrow hair loss can be due to a number of contributing factors including

  • physical trauma
  • local and systemic disease
  • over plucking (trichotillomania)
  • medical or surgical treatments such as chemotherapy, surgical removal etc.

If you currently suffer from facial hair loss, or they have been damaged due to excessive plucking or not growing the way you want them to, a Gro hair transplant microsurgery procedure may be able to help you.

How eyebrow transplants work

The Gro microsurgery or micro FUE procedure is the most gentle and refined of eyebrow hair transplants in Auckland. For all hair transplantation procedures, Gro guarantees natural results along with no pain, no scars and no scalpels.

During this procedure, transplanted hairs from the donor area (back of your head) are extracted one by one to match your existing eyebrows. With the use of our custom-designed implanting tool, the doctor has complete control over the depth and direction in which grafts are implanted. This added control and precision, meaning the doctor is able to achieve beautiful, natural-looking results.

Microsurgery eyebrow transplantation process:

  1. The doctor and a hair growth specialist at a Gro Auckland clinic will work to thoroughly design the eyebrow area according to your requirements. Ensuring that the treatment will offer you the desired results and provide the defined symmetry to perfectly compliment your face.
  2. The number of required follicular units and the kind of follicle grafts required for a natural result and density are counted.
  3. The required follicular units are extracted from the donor area (in most cases, the back of the head) one by one.
  4. The extracted hair follicles are then placed into the eyebrow area.
  5. The transplanted hair follicles have now been successfully implanted, they will continue to grow for the patient’s lifetime.
